If you’re planning a Miami girls trip, this guide covers everything you need to know for the perfect girls’ weekend in Miami, from where to stay in South Beach to the best restaurants, shopping in the Design District, and what to pack for a stylish weekend trip. After spending last weekend exploring Miami with my best friend, I put together this Miami girls getaway guide with the places that are actually worth it.

A few days in Miami with your closest friends is genuinely good for the soul.
Sunshine, ocean air, late dinners, great shopping and just enough fashion that getting dressed feels like a main part of the event. Exactly my kind of girls’ weekend.
Last weekend, my friend and I escaped the winter cold for an amazing trip to southern Florida, flying straight into Miami International Airport and heading for the heart of South Beach. Within minutes, the snowstorms back home felt very far away.
Miami has a way of turning a simple weekend trip into something memorable. Between South Beach, the Design District, and the restaurants lining Collins Avenue and Ocean Drive, there’s always something happening. And with beach clubs, rooftop cocktails at golden hour, incredible restaurants, and some of the best shopping in the country, it’s the perfect place for a fun weekend away with friends.
If you’re planning your own getaway, consider this your Miami girls getaway guide: what to pack, where to stay, where to eat, and where to shop for the most stylish girls’ trip.

WHAT TO WEAR IN MIAMI
Morning walks: Leggings / Tank / Half Zip Top / Layered Shorts Beach: Crochet Coverup / Tote Bag / One Piece / Bikini / Tinted Sunscreen / Sunscreen Powder. Shopping: Top / Necklace / Pleated Shorts / Bucket Bag / Jelly Flip Flops Night Out: Dress / Leather Pouch / Metallic Heels
WHAT TO PACK
Packing for Miami is easier when you think in outfit categories. For a girls’ weekend, I always bring four types of looks:
Morning Walks
Light layers are perfect for early walks along the beach before the day heats up.
Beach or Pool
A chic one-piece or bikini with a crochet cover-up and oversized tote works perfectly for a day at the beach clubs.
Shopping
An elevated summer look (think pleated shorts, a great top, and statement sunglasses) is ideal for wandering through Lincoln Road or the Design District.
Nights Out
Little dresses and a touch of shine go a long way for Friday night dinners and cocktails.
One thing I had forgotten about Miami: women truly dress up here. It’s one of the few cities where being slightly overdressed actually feels completely appropriate, whether you’re walking down Collins Avenue, grabbing lunch on Ocean Drive, or shopping mid-day.
If you feel like dressing up, do it. Day or night you’ll fit right in.
I’m also very particular about the bags I travel with because a good system makes the whole trip easier. A clear pouch for beauty products so I can find things without digging. A tote with divided sections for travel day essentials. And luggage with compartments that somehow fits my inevitable overpacking and eventual shopping. And then there are the packing cubes to help squeeze everything in, which just means I can pack and shop even more.
If you also plan to pack in a carry on you’ll want to follow this packing guide, where the goal is less packing, more style! Perfect for Miami Beach.

Covering all the bases and staying organized while traveling:
Carry-on suitcase / Tote Bag / Clear Cosmetic Bag / Hand Cream / Sunscreen Powder / Lip Treatment / Headphones / Flip Flops

MIAMI: WHERE TO STAY
For a Miami girls trip, location matters. Staying in the heart of South Beach makes it easy to walk to restaurants, the beach, and nightlife. Many of the best beachfront hotels in Miami are located here, making it the ideal spot for a girls’ weekend.
We stayed at The Betsy, a boutique hotel located right on Ocean Drive. The property blends 1920s Art Deco architecture with a slightly old-school glamour that immediately sets the tone for a relaxed but stylish getaway.
The hotel has everything you want for a girls’ weekend:
-
Two pools (including a rooftop pool perfect for watching the sunset)
-
Live music in the evenings
-
Beautiful art throughout the property
-
The beach directly across the street
-
Little private cabanas and beach chairs already set up and ready for you upon arrival
It’s one of those beautiful hotels that manages to feel both polished and intimate at the same time: the ideal spot if you prefer boutique properties over large luxury hotels. Within minutes of arriving, I had a cocktail served in a coconut by the pool, which was exactly what the doctor ordered. Next time we might try the Faena for a different experience, but The Betsy was a great option for this trip and we had an amazing time.

Casa Tua Miami
MIAMI: WHERE TO EAT
Miami has some of the best restaurants in the country, but for a weekend trip you have to be strategic. These were some of the best places we booked and loved:
Casa Tua
If you want a romantic garden setting with delicious food and a fantastic wine list, Casa Tua is a great place to start the weekend. It feels tucked away from the chaos of South Beach, making it the perfect way to start the weekend, especially for best friends catching up over a long dinner.
MILA
After dinner, keep the night going with drinks nearby at MILA. The restaurant and rooftop bar scene here is classic Miami: glamorous, lively, full of people watching and a great energetic party vibe. It’s also a great place for happy hour if you want to start the night early.
Jaya at The Setai
Dinner at Jaya comes with entertainment. The restaurant combines incredible Asian fusion cuisine with live performances, including acrobatic dancers performing above the pool. Between the live music, the show, and the beautiful courtyard setting, it’s one of the most memorable dining experiences in Miami.
Mandolin Aegean Bistro
For an incredible lunch, Mandolin Aegean Bistro is a must. My friend Ariann who is a luxury travel consultant recommend it and she never misses. Located near the Design District, the whitewashed building with blue accents makes you feel like you’ve stepped onto a Greek island. The light Mediterranean food is perfect for a long lunch before an afternoon of shopping.
Pura Vida Miami
This quickly became our morning ritual. After a long walk along the beach, we’d stop at Pura Vida for smoothies, juices, and healthy snacks to bring to the beach. It’s the ideal start to a sunny South Florida day.

Shopping at Faena Bazaar
MIAMI: WHERE TO SHOP
Shopping was at the top of our to-do list, and Miami delivers.
Design District
The Design District is one of my favorite places to shop anywhere. You’ll find luxury brands like Celine, Gucci, and Louis Vuitton, but what makes the neighborhood special is the mix of established designers and smaller boutiques. Stores like Isabel Marant, Reformation, and Carolina K sit next to galleries, cafés, and art installations; making it feel like a stylish outdoor museum. It’s also one of the best places in Miami to discover smaller emerging designers alongside the big fashion houses.
Faena Bazaar
Faena is an entire world: a beautiful hotel, a film center, shopping and restaurants. Inside the Faena complex, Faena Bazaar is one of the most interesting places to browse. The curated collection of emerging designers and global brands makes it feel more like discovering hidden treasures than traditional shopping.
Hotel Shops
Don’t skip the hotel boutiques in Miami. During this trip we wandered into Kith and even spotted Big Drop NYC, which felt like a throwback fashion moment for those who remember the original.
Lincoln Road
For something more casual, spend time walking along Lincoln Road, one of the city’s best pedestrian shopping streets. Between the fun souvenir shops, restaurants, and outdoor cafés, it’s a great way to spend a some time before heading back to the beach.

Why Miami Is the Perfect Girls’ Weekend
What makes Miami so special is how easy it is to have a great time. You can start the day walking along the beach, spend the afternoon shopping the Design District, relax at a beach club, and end the night with cocktails on a rooftop bar with your best friends. From Collins Avenue to Ocean Drive, the entire city feels like it was designed for stylish escapes and a good time. A few of the products in this post were gifted to me. I brought them with me to Miami and loved them which is why I shared them here! The gifted items were the carry-on suitcase from Carl Friedrik, the packing cubes from Solgaard and the sunscreen from Colorescience. If you purchase any of them, I hope you love them as much as I do.
