I wanted to get a closer look inside the life of a fitness influencer and find out all of Brooke’s favorite things…from workout classes to fashion to her daily beauty routine. Read on as she gives us a sneak peak into her life.
THE ROUTINE
Jamie: First things first. What’s your morning beverage?
Brooke: Matcha all the way! I was a don’t-talk-to-me-until-I’ve-
Jamie: What’s your weekday morning routine like?
Brooke: I’d love to say that I have some peaceful morning routine but my reality is very far from that. I have three kids to get ready and off to different schools at different times. Once the chaos of that is over, I’m off to sweat out the trauma of the morning. Some mornings I go to 5 am or 6 am classes so that I can get my workout in first thing and then get on with my day.
Jamie: What are your favorite workout classes and why?
Brooke: I am all about strength training and high intensity conditioning classes and have found my place to do both– Xtraining in Bryn Mawr. I love their strength classes because the trainers do a great job watching the room while pushing you to lift more and heavier, safely. And after training for my first Hyrox this fall, I learned to love conditioning work that gets my heart pumping hard for 50 minutes. This workout is also great for metabolic strength which dips in midlife.

Jamie: How do you stay motivated when it’s so cold and dark out?! (asking for a friend)
Brooke: Ever try a hot workout in the winter? It’s glorious. So I recommend starting there if the cold winters are getting to you. If you live on the Main Line, check out The Studio at LVX in Ardmore or Core Studio in Bryn Mawr.
Jamie: What advice do you have for busy / working moms to stay fit and active? How can women squeeze exercise into their busy lives?
Brooke: Make movement a priority. A nonnegotiable. I often prioritize fitness over just about everything else after my family, including all of the housework that often piles up. I know I need exercise for my mental health and when mom isn’t ok, no one is ok! Buying a class, a membership or a personal training session will hold you accountable. I often look at my upcoming week on Sunday and schedule all my workouts for the week ahead. I pay for them and put them in my calendar, and I do not move them. I work all my other appointments around my workouts. I find that early morning workouts are the best way to get a workout in before the world wakes up where you can be pulled away by family, work or other distractions of life. A fitness goal like a race or other competition is also another great way to motivate.

NEW YEAR’S MOTIVATION
Jamie: After about five weeks of celebrating the holidays – eating, drinking, maybe working out less or being on vacation – how do you reset for the new year and get into a fresh routine?
Brooke: I never really take a break from working out. While it’s important to live a balanced life and not obsess over exercise, taking too much time off from movement can really make it easy to fall off completely. That’s why it’s so important to find the type of exercise that you actually enjoy and a schedule that works with your life for the long run. Then you’ll be less likely to stop or take a break for too long.
Jamie: Are there any foods you like to eat or things you like to do to detox after the holiday season?
Brooke: Every January I lead my audience in some sort of reset/cleanse. I usually pick a different cleanse to do but all of them allow for whole foods. It’s important to reset in a way that can be sustained and then carried out throughout the year. This year, I am teaming up with Owl Venice to do their more intense 21 day reset program and I cannot wait to share this comprehensive program with my audience!

FASHION
Jamie: As a fitness influencer you get to try all of the latest workout gear. What are your favorite new workout brands? What are your tried and true favorites?
Brooke: I am a big fan of Set Active for all the fitness trends. But I am a tried and true fan of Beyond Yoga. I love the colors, the styles, the feel and the fit. Those are the sets I am always reaching for.
Jamie: Where are your favorite places to shop in person and online?
Brooke: My favorite boutique is Lovebirds in Wayne. The owner, Grace, finds great brands and special pieces. I am also a huge fan of Shopbop for the convenience– it arrives in 2 days, returns are easy, and they have all the trends. My favorite IG follows for clothes right now are @jennalitner (a runner and fitness girl but with the best style that totally matches my vibe) and @coolmonologue (what all the cool moms are wearing, and ofc I want to be a cool mom).
Jamie: You are definitely a cool mom! What five things are in your cart right now?
Brooke: I just placed a big Vuori order which consisted mostly of sweats because that’s my winter uniform. In my Shopbop cart are two slouchy sweaters (one from Z Supply and a cashmere one from Sold Out NYC), Plus this gorgeous chocolate brown faux fur coat from Avec Les Filles, which I am actually going to go order right now because my size is finally back in stock. I’m also on the hunt for a hooded scarf. One from Rag and Bone is in my cart but I think I can find one for under $300 so I’m still looking. And I just pulled the trigger on these gorgeous boots from ba&sh because they were on major sale.

BEAUTY
Jamie: What’s on your counter? Skincare, beauty, supplements…what’s your daily routine?
Brooke: I don’t take a ton of supplements but I do take creatine and have been taking it for a year now. I like Tone from Arrae because it doesn’t leave me bloated and tastes good– I love the new green apple flavor. I actually wrote this article about it. I also take Fatty15 for long term health as I age. I just received a Perimenopause Support Pack of daily vitamins from Perelel that I plan to start soon. For protein, I like Grass-fed Whey in Madagascar Vanilla from Promix. And for my face, I mostly use the products from Danucera (Cerabalm, Cream Supreme, D22 Tonic, and am absolutely obsessed with the D7 Serum). For makeup, I love the Luminous Eye Corrector from Drmtlgy as my concealer, the Pocket Blush in Toasted Teddy from Rhode and Wonderskin Lip Stain in Charming– this is my workout makeup routine. Yes, I wear makeup when I workout :).
