That’s why I am super excited for Spring and Summer 2025 lip trends. This season, it’s all about experimenting with vibrant shades and textures to find the perfect lip to match your individual style. And because I’m a beauty addict, I try to promote clean beauty brands with nontoxic, high quality ingredients. Here is my guide to every type of lipstick, where to buy them and my current Vetted lip trends that are about to be seen everywhere.
Sheer Lipsticks
If you just want a hint of color then lip tints and sheer lipsticks are for you. You may have to reapply them often, but the good news is that they won’t smudge, smeer or be noticeable as the color wears off. It’s a foolproof way to get a slight sheen for wherever your day takes you.

Creamy Lipsticks
If you’re looking for a full coverage lip color that is perfect for day or night, this is a great option. With more nourishing ingredients, this type of lipstick also works better on dry lips and helps to keep them hydrated. While you may need frequent touch-ups to keep it looking perfect, it’s worth the effort for the beautiful, polished look.

Matte Lipstick
Compared to regular lipsticks, matte lipsticks have a flat finish (no shine) and a bold look. The color is long-lasting, provides full coverage and won’t easily transfer to other things like your shirt or wine glass. One downside is that matte lipsticks tend to be drying so make sure to keep your lips hydrated before applying.

Buy the right shade for your skin tone
Whether you have warm undertones or cool undertones, you want to buy a lipstick shade that matches your specific skin tone. With so many colors and a variety of lipstick finishes to choose from, there is a perfect shade out there for everyone. Light pinks and nude shades look great with fair skin. Medium skin looks great with classic reds, darker pinks and berry shades. Darker skin looks great with rich colors like bold reds, burgundy and plum shades. Assess your skin tone to find the best lipstick for you.
We recommend clean products, skip the toxins whenever possible
With so many different types of lipsticks on the market, why buy one with chemicals or ingredients you can’t pronounce? Whether you are looking for a simple tinted lip balm, traditional lipsticks or a liquid formula with glossy finishes, there are vegan, cruelty-free and clean options for you to wear. Many clean products are made with natural ingredients and vitamins like jojoba oil, shea butter and vitamin E that can also help to nourish and enrich your lips.
Make lipstick last longer
To create longer lasting color, consider using a lip primer or lip liner prior to applying your lipstick. A lip primer helps lipstick adhere to your lips and therefore not transfer or fade as quickly. And lip liner helps create a bolder outline which can last longer than lipstick alone.
