The Shoe Trends Dominating this Spring & Summer

One of the signs we are entering warmer months is the annual updating of our footwear. Boots get moved to the back of the closet to wait it out and our sandals emerge from hibernation for their moment to shine. And while we are always excited to pull those summer styles back out, we often need to fill in our spring and summer shoe collection with the latest sneaker trends, go-to sandals and must-have fashion styles. Ready to find the types of shoes that you will start planning all of your outfits around this season? Without further ado, here are the top 10 spring and summer shoe trends you need to know with top choices to shop for each trend.

I. Retro Sneakers

Sneakers are a wardrobe staple and are probably already in pretty high rotation, getting the most wear out of all of the shoes in your collection. The latest sneaker to enter your orbit? The retro sneaker. Unlike your other athletic trainers, the retro sneaker is made to pull together your ensemble with a cool, relaxed vibe. It has a flat sole and not a ton of arch support, but that’s not a problem as it was made for casual outings and running errands, not a half marathon. Whether you are looking for clean white sneakers or options with various colors, there’s a style for you. II. Clogs & Mules

Wedge platforms and clogs made a huge splash at Chloe’s FW24 show and the boho trend has continued to accelerate. For SS25 platform sandals and mules take center stage and look 70’s chic styled back to flared denim, diaphanous floral dresses and leather skirts. Chloe, Rag & Bone, Rachel Comey and Madewell all have embraced the style with their on-trend wearable versions this season. Whether you are looking for a lot of height or something easier to maneuver in, these are a few great options to try on.

III. Woven Shoes

Woven shoes are the latest trend with cool new updates to classic styles like ballet flats and slingbacks. High end fashion brands like Bottega Veneta and Jacquemus have bold iterations of woven leather shoes this season, taking the trend to new heights. Other designers and brands like Fendi, Staud, Madewell, Free People and Loeffler Randall have more timeless interpretations for everyday wear. The whole point this season is to personalize your look and have fun with fashion and all of these options allow you to customize your look any way you see fit.

IV: Flat Sandals

Flat summer sandals are a necessity that most of us wear on repeat and are easy to pack for weekends at the beach and summer vacation. This season the flat sandal comes in so many variations with designs in almost any pattern you can conjure up! Take your pick of any pair of sandals to go back to your spring and summer wardrobe. I love the current styles from A. Emery, Amanu and St. Agni for their versatility. You can wear them with anything including dresses, shorts and even suiting to give your look an edge.

V.  Soft Loafers

Last season structured loafers with thick sturdy soles could be seen everywhere, with a singular point of view from almost every designer. This season the perfect pair is whichever one suits your style best from driving shoes in soft leather and suede to boat shoes to bright summer whites. With a softer, more feminine take on the loafer, they look great styled back to jeans and blazers to elevate your outfit for work or for play.

VI: Snake Print

Any style leather shoes can be found in snake print this season. Think of them as a new neutral that can be incorporated into your wardrobe any way you see fit. With boots, heels, sandals and flats, you can style these with virtually anything. We’ve seen snake prints in a lot of the Fall 2025 collections as well so these can easily transition past spring and summer shoes well into the following seasons.

VII: Thong Sandals

While women’s flat, rubber flip-flops are a tried and true summer staple, the thong has matured into a fully grown up sandal. And this season you can find a lot of variation to express your own personal style like Chloe’s jelly thongs. Looking for something super casual?
