Nothing screams summer quite like a raffia bag. And while the original inspiration came from Jane Birkin’s iconic basket bag, every brand now has their own version with different shapes, sizes and details. With so many incredible options, how do you choose just one? Let’s be honest, you can’t. With that said, here are V of my favorite raffia bags in different styles to meet all of your summer needs!

I.
THE TOTE
Jacquemus, Le Panier Soli Basket Bag
I chose this raffia bag because it is so timeless. Like Jane Birkin and her ubiquitous basket that she brought everywhere, this bag is large enough to hold all of your daily essentials whether that be a day in the city or a weekend at the beach. And without logos or other “trendy” adornments, this bag will be a mainstay in your summer wardrobe for years to come.
II.
THE SHOULDER BAG
A.P.C., Astra Shoulder Bag
This is one of my favorite bag shapes from A.P.C. reinvented in raffia with leather trim and gold hardware. It reminds me of Celine’s Triomph bag which is another favorite of mine. It’s classic, chic and the perfect summer date-night size. Plus neutral and black goes back to everything.
III.
THE BELT BAG
Prada, Crochet and Leather Mini Pouch
In my humble opinion, Prada can do no wrong! Over the last few years the team at Prada has designed so many covetable bags and this is another winner. A raffia version of a belt bag with their classic triangle logo feels so fresh and new. And it’s so nice to be hands-free in the summer so you can hold other things, like ice cream.
IV.
THE BUCKET BAG
LOEWE x Paula’s Ibiza Raffia Shoulder Bag
Loewe has so many amazing raffia bags it’s hard to choose just one. Their palm leaf basket is a classic (pictured above) and I want everything in their collab x Paula’s Ibiza collection including this one. This bag captures the carefree aesthetic of island life and feels like vacation just to have it with you.
V.
THE MINI CROSSBODY
SAINT LAURENT, Leather Trimmed Raffia Bag
This mini crossbody has an effortless look with elevated YSL hardware closure. For those who love smaller raffia bags, this is such a cute way to incorporate raffia into your wardrobe. Wear it over your shoulder or with the top handles to carry just the few essentials you need.
It seems like all of our favorite bags from totes to clutches have been reimagined in raffia and we collectively can’t get enough. From luxury styles to more affordable cult favorites, here are some more of the latest raffia bags to get you through this summer in style.
